Join us for the exciting launch of the Rock Snake, a whimsical public art installation designed to bring creativity and community spirit to Sorosis Park! This interactive project is a collaboration between The Dalles Art Center and Northern Wasco County Parks and Recreation District, inviting community members of all ages to participate in painting and adding their own uniquely designed rocks to the snake throughout the summer, creating a vibrant and colorful addition to the park.
The festivities will kick off on May 17th from 2 PM to 4 PM with a special rock painting program led by TDAC Board Vice President, Ami Beaver. Attendees will have the opportunity to unleash their creativity and paint their own rocks, which will be added to the installation. During the kick-off event, participants will have the chance to vote on a name for the Rock Snake, making this a truly community-driven project.
